We purchased 24.5 acres of rough, hilly, pine forested land in 1997. Based on the trees growing here (again, mostly Virginia Pine), we knew the land had been logged back in the 1960s.
Original Homestead Plans:
- Feed lot of goats.
- Chickens.
- A small garden
- A small orchard
- Lots of “buffer zone” between us, the road, and the neighbors.
Then we learned about grass-based farming.
