Personal CO2 Emissions
From the U.S. Government’s Environmental Protection Agency, a calculator to determine how much CO2 emissions your household generates. Not that we believe CO2 emissions or humans are causing global warming or climate change…or that either even exists.
What the calculator does show, albiet indirectly, is how much energy your family consumes. Our family of six generates roughly 75% of the CO2 generated by the average two person household. While the calculator does not take into account heating with firewood, clearly, living in a solar powered house, minimizing driving, and eliminating air conditioning have major impacts on energy use.
The Emissions Calculator also helps the user to determine how lowering (or raising for a/c) the thermostat, driving less, replacing older appliances with more energy efficient ones, etc. can impact your emissions and energy use.
So if you are looking at ways to reduce your electric, oil, and gas bills, check it out.
